Staff

Red Pine enjoys great continuity of staff, however there are job openings for new staff each camp season. Red Pine serves approximately 120 campers per four-week session and employs approximately 50 staff. We comply with state and federal laws and adhere to the strict standards of the American Camping Association.
Job descriptions at camp vary and will be furnished after receipt of your application. You must be over eighteen years of age to apply for employment at Red Pine Camp.
An interest in children, an awareness of their individual needs and abilities, and the ability to direct their energies toward constructive goals are essential qualifications of a successful Red Pine staff member. Your morals, conduct, speech, and grooming should be above reproach. Dependability, sincerity, honesty, maturity, tact, enthusiasm, and initiative are additional qualities necessary for a member of our staff. It is important that you enter into the spirit of camp and work together with the entire staff as a team.
If you honestly feel you have the skills and character to be an asset to our staff, we urge you to apply for a position at Red Pine. Please follow the application form link to the left and submit your information to us. Allow ten days for notification of openings and be prepared to submit three letters of reference within two weeks following the notification. You may find it helpful to keep a copy of your application for reference.
While the hours at camp are long and the work is often hard, we can guarantee that if you put forth your best effort, it is an experience that will enrich your life forever.
Leadership-Counselor in Training
An aspiration of even the youngest camper is to become a Red Pine counselor! The majority of our staff have been former campers who have participated in Red Pine’s three-year Leadership Training Program. The highest level a camper can attain is recognition as a Leadership Girl. These girls participate as full-tuition campers in all camp activities under the guidance of staff advisors, and are given additional responsibilities and growth opportunities. After their first Leadership year, they are eligible to apply for Counselor-in-Training – Level 1 (CIT 1), where they specialize in chosen departments and train as cabin counselors. In the third year, preceding their entrance into college, those completing the program serve as CIT 2. Girls in CIT 1 and CIT 2 are paid for their efforts. Camp tuition is waived although they are still working to achieve full staff status. Click here for more information on Leadership.
