Parent FAQ's

How can I communicate with my daughter?
Mail call is a major part of your daughter's day. Letters and pictures are a delight!   We recommend parents to try to send regular letters, even if they are short.

Can I email my daughter?

As we are in the Northwoods, our internet can be sporadic.  We can distribute a limited number of emails, however email mail may not be printed every day.  We recommend regular postal service mail to be the best way to communicate with your daughter.

My daughter has never been away from home. What if she is terribly homesick?
For new campers, feeling lonesome is not unexpected. However once your daughter is caught up in the full activities of Red Pine, homesickness is usually forgotten. We suggest you discuss this topic with your daughter before she leaves for camp.  The ACA website is an excellent resource to help families and campers to prepare for camp.  www.campparents.org

When can I visit my daughter?
The following Saturdays are designated as Visitor Days.

Dates: June 26, July 3, July 24 and July 31

Hours: 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Please call ahead to make sure that your camper is not on an outing. Upon arrival, please check in at the office and we will locate your camper. Guests are welcome to visit the program areas of camp. We ask that visitors respect the privacy of the campers who do not have guests by staying out of the cabins and cabin areas. We prefer campers and visitors stay on camp property for their visit as leaving is disruptive to your child and their cabinmates. However, if you choose to take your child into town, other campers will not be allowed to accompany her and she will be required to return no later than 7 p.m. so she can participate in the evening’s program. When returning to camp in the evening, campers are to be dropped off at the Office where their counselors will meet them.
